This is Not the 5 Second Rule many of us grew up with.
I was at a conference on Health & Wellness and learned about Hunger Mindfulness from Alexandrea Zohn, a mind-body and eating psychology health coach.
Try this exercise next time you’re at the table:
5 seconds before you put food in your mouth ask yourself, Why am I eating this?
A). Because I’m hungry and this is nourishing.
B). Because this is a special food experience that I really want to have and enjoy.
C). Because I’m angry, lonely, tired sad board.
A & B go ahead and eat it. If B is happening very often you might want to look at C.
If you answer C it may be a sign that you want to look for something other than food for comfort. Some alternatives, journaling, calling a friend, deep breath work, moving your body like dancing, aromatherapy. Embrace the information and learn more about yourself.
77% of people are actively trying to manage their weight.
Frustrations are all too familiar with hunger, lack of willpower or life getting in the way.
Weight management is NOT just a number on a scale. It is about you and your body working together.
Have you ever lost weight but the pounds didn’t come off from where you really wanted them to?
The new science of weight management says that developing and maintaining more lean muscle through exercise, nutrition and supplements can redefine your body composition. This puts your mind and body in balance for a leaner healthier you.
